In view of looking out for the well being of one another, we will be implementing some changes in the way we meet. Below is a list of the guidelines we plan to follow.
-
The building has been cleaned and normally-shared items such as hymnals and pew Bibles have been stored.
-
Upon arriving, you will be asked to use hand sanitizer or wipes, which we will provide.
-
Please be prepared to wear a face covering. (We will have a supply available if you need one.)
-
Please keep a minimum of six feet between you and others outside your immediate household. This applies both inside (especially on the staircase) and outside the church building.
-
Seating arrangements will be different. Certain pews will be blocked off to promote physical distancing and we ask that you sit only with those of your immediate household.
-
To minimize physical touch, we will not be using church bulletins, hymnals, or Bibles. We are also adjusting how we collect tithes and offerings. You will find envelopes in each pew and you may put your contribution in one of the envelopes. The envelopes will be collected after you leave.
-
Singing will be different in view of state guidelines. Pastor Jay and Cathy will still be leading, but we ask that you hum along to the music or quietly sing to yourself.
-
The small vestry will be available if you do not feel comfortable meeting with the larger group upstairs. The room is equipped with speakers from the sanctuary audio system.
-
We will dismiss one pew at a time at the conclusion of the worship service to protect physical distancing.
-
We will continue to offer an online worship service or audio CD for you if you are not comfortable coming back yet. It is perfectly okay if you decide not to come. We will hold you close in our prayers and look forward to seeing you again in the future.
-
Please be prepared to remain at home if you are experiencing symptoms of sickness.
One final thought. Please keep in mind that though you may not feel the need to follow these guidelines, there are others who do. One way you can demonstrate the love of Christ to them is to follow the guidelines for their sake. There will be some who are not yet comfortable about returning to corporate worship. Pray for them and stay in touch with them as I am sure they are with us in spirit.
As always, please contact me or one of the Deacons if you have any questions or feedback.
Sincerely in Christ,
Pastor Jay
